The Dalziel Law Firm Establishes New Office in Marietta Specializing in Labor and Employment Law

Marietta, GA (August 5, 2019) — Attorney Charles M. “Chuck” Dalziel, Jr. has established the Dalziel Law Firm in Marietta, Georgia specializing in labor and employment law. Dalziel has 37 years of litigation and arbitration experience and has tried numerous cases in state and federal courts and before arbitration panels.

 

The Dalziel Law Firm represents employers and employees in labor and employment matters, including non-compete agreements, severance agreements, at-will terminations, and Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) benefit claims. Firm principal Chuck Dalziel is also a mediator and arbitrator in commercial cases, bad faith insurance cases, trade secret/non-compete cases and business divorces.

 

Dalziel has a long and successful track record in labor and employment cases, obtaining many multi-million awards— including one for $4.2 million— primarily in the area of non-compete, non-solicitation and non-disclosure agreements, trade secret claims and tortious interference claims. He has handled an enormous number of TRO/preliminary injunction hearings in recruiting cases; many for clients in the financial services industry, but also for accountants, engineers, insurance brokers and agents, physicians, chiropractors, veterinarians, accountants, dentists and sales professionals.

 

In his career, Dalziel has litigated and arbitrated employee restrictive covenant cases in 20 states and has vast experience in choice of law and forum selection clause issues. The firm maintains current state laws and statutes nationwide in this practice area.

Dalziel maintains a vibrant insurance coverage practice, as he has been at various times in his career the primary outside coverage lawyer for the state of Georgia for four different insurance companies. In the new firm, Dalziel intends to continue to do coverage work for insurers, while at the same time representing policyholders in dealing with their insurers. He built a team of lawyers who pursued a bad faith settlement for a brain-injured plaintiff against the insurer of one of the target defendants, and the team recovered $11.4 million for the injured party.

 

Most recently, Dalziel was a partner with the firm of Gregory, Doyle, Calhoun & Rogers. He was admitted to the Georgia State Bar in 1980; is Chairman of the State Bar Audit Committee, Chairman of the Atlanta Bar Association Alternative Dispute Resolution Section, Member of the Atlanta Bar Litigation Section Board of Directors, Georgia Bar Trade Secrets Committee, Member of the Lawyers Club of Atlanta, and the Business Law Section of the Cobb Bar Association.

Dalziel is an accomplished speaker and author, including multiple speaking engagements with ICLE in Georgia, with his topic being Advice on Prevention of Malpractice Claims. This has arisen from his work as a legal malpractice defense lawyer. Dalziel has a wealth of experience (both as plaintiff’s counsel and defense counsel) in securities arbitration and thus has chaired seminars on Securities Arbitration generally ( a day-long event), Claims of Unauthorized Trading,  and RICO.

Dalziel received his Juris Doctorate, Magna Cum Laude from the University of Georgia School of Law, received Honors, Order of the Coif; and a Bachelor of Science, Cum Laude, from Georgia Southern College.
